The Mayor and City Council members serve two- and four-year terms, respectively, and are elected by Prairie City residents in a citywide election.

Council meetings are held monthly at City Hall on the second Wednesday and special council meetings are scheduled, as needed. Community members are welcome to attend in person or via Zoom at the link posted on that night’s agenda.
