Prairie City Emergency Medical Services

Ambulance Chairperson:
Jody Van Der Kamp

The Prairie City Ambulance consists of approximately 25 volunteers who offer basic life support services to Prairie City and surrounding communities. Volunteers are available 24/7 to handle calls. A number of our crew have their basic Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certifications, while all volunteers undergo annual CPR, defensive driving, and incident command training.

In addition to emergency services, the team provides public assistance, completes hospice runs, and hosts CPR training and certification classes.

Applications for those interested in joining the team as an EMT, driver, or attendant are available here or at City Hall. Once accepted, applicants will be required to complete the necessary training.
